Gender Equality & Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)  Women at Workplace

The National Institute of Immunology (BRIC-NII) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, equitable, and respectful workplace for all its employees, students, research scholars, interns, project staff, visitors, and collaborators.

The Institute promotes equal opportunity and maintains a work environment free from discrimination, harassment, and intimidation. BRIC–NII believes that every individual has the right to work, learn, and conduct research with dignity and mutual respect.

To uphold these principles, the Institute has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

 

Welfare Measures for Women

BRIC-NII has undertaken several initiatives to promote the welfare, safety, and well-being of women employees and students.

The Institute provides:

  • Equal opportunity in recruitment, research, training, and career development.
  • A safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive working environment.
  • An on-campus Crèche Facility for children of working women employees.
  • CCTV surveillance at designated locations across the campus to enhance safety and security.
  • Regular awareness programmes on gender sensitization and workplace ethics.

 

Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)

  • BRIC–NII has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and registered on the Government of India SHe-Box Portal, in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, to address complaints of sexual harassment in a fair, confidential, and time-bound manner.
  • BRIC–NII has established a comprehensive POSH framework, including approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) (available on the Institute website and displayed across the campus).
  • BRIC–NII-ICC meets regularly and organize awareness and sensitization programmes for faculty, staff, students, project personnel, interns, and other members of the Institute.

 

Complaint Mechanism

Any aggrieved woman associated with BRIC-NII may submit a signed written complaint to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). Complaints may be submitted to: Chairperson or Member Secretary; Email: sexualharassment@nii.ac.in
